(Pardon the image quality- I took the photo with my phone.)Our Laina has experienced her very first ear infection. She started with the congestion and a fever on Thursday. We took care of the fever with some tylenol, but she remained pretty miserable. Friday mid-morning, green goop started collecting in her eye (tmi?). I called the nurse hotline around noon, and they wanted me to bring her in for a quick check. The doctor checked her ears, and sure enough, he found fluid. A nice little prescription of Amoxicillin has done wonders for our babe. She has been extra chatty, and we think it's her way of telling us she feels better.
We headed to his parent's house where Elaina enjoyed playing with her cousin Jacoby in her aunt's (auntie's?) belly. 
Saturday morning, the ladies at Andrea's church threw a very nice baby shower for her. Elaina was a little jet-lagged and decided to take a quick nap. 
After the shower, we took a tour of Jacoby's nursery and Uncle Adam's sheriff car. Elaina liked the police siren. 
After two quick visits with my grandparents, it was back to the airport! We arrived in Raleigh-Durham about 10:00pm Sunday night. We immediately headed to bed once we reached home. I was not ready to wake up and work Monday morning. So sleepy...but it was worth it! We don't get to see family very often, so we enjoy every moment of the time we do get to spend together.
